May the 4th Be With You!

Yes, it’s Star Wars Day! And the Jedi puns will be everywhere and so will the Stormtroopers, so prepare yourself.

I prepared myself with full immersion recently at Disney’s Hollywood Studios where we spent one entire evening bartering with Jawa

marching around with some stormtroopers and, getting up close and personal with Chewbacca (how I ended up in his armpit I’ll never know)

and Kylo Ren (aka Ben Solo… but don’t let me spoil it for you).

Or as the Disney folks like to call it: A Galactic Spectacular Dessert Party at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

And trust me, a dessert party it was! So. Much. Sugar!

And the drinks were intergalactic. My Swamp Milk was just enough to take the edge off my disappointment that even with all my preparation and 3 items to trade the Jawa rejected my trades. However both Carrie & Marion had success, so I’ve decided I’ll just sip my swamp milk and let them do all the trading from now on.

Even Travel Bunny and Wee Moosie got in on the swamp milk.

After jacking up on sugar and alcohol we were escorted out to the viewing area, cordoned off for those of us who were part of the Galactic Spectacular Dessert Party to watch the Starwars fireworks show which was spectacular. Since we were in the best area for viewing, which included a big space in front of our area that was kept clear of people, it was fantastic!

Here are my shots of the fireworks (which I have to say are pretty damned good given that I shot them on my Motorola phone!)

At the end of the night we were even pretty sure we could control the force ourselves.
